Fabulous First Grader

We got to watch Jasper get her "Bobcat Award" yesterday. She is growing up so quickly now. It is amazing to watch her grow and learn. She started reading chapter books, and gets quite carried away, reading more than she is supposed to because she is interested in what will happen next. She has now joined the ranks of us 'Book lovers' and has added the 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians' series to her list of favorites.

Proud girl!

This is what her Teacher wrote about her:

Quite a special girl...

These two don't always get along great, but they sure love each other.

In other news this week, the resident Menace bit through his lip... AGAIN!

Luckily it healed up pretty quickly, but it sure looked awful in the meantime.

Oh, and look what else he learned how to do...

Gross, huh? He only does it because we make a big deal out of it, so I am trying to ignore it... easier said than done. Especially when he uses his pointer fingers to plug BOTH nostrils at the same time and then comes to show me. HOW do you ignore that?

Mommy was able to successfully give him a haircut this week. Now it showcases his big 'ol ears better. :)

What a cutie!

I can't believe how big your kids are! And holy cow are they cute!!! Good for Jasper! :) Aren't boys and girls so different? It kinda freaks me out sometimes!

Your kids are just too cute. How exciting that Jasper is a reader! I can only hope that Anicka's love of books continues into her school years. I have read one or two small chapter books to her and she liked them, (though she was a little lost when it came to the story, at times) so I'm hopeful. And I love Aram's haircut. I've got to say that I love the 'big boy' haircuts on little guys.

Aww thanks, Michelle. I always think they are cute, but since I KNOW I am biased... it's nice to hear that opinion from others. There is not a day that goes by that I don't marvel (or freak out) at how different the genders are... and sometimes wish I had another girl! :D Do you ever feel that way? Boys are a HANDFUL, but fun in their own way.

Mellissa, I don't think Anicka stands a chance of NOT being an avid reader,... with a Mom like she has! :) It must be genetic because everyone in our family loves to read! Try letting her listen to a few children's audiobooks... Jasper loves them and I think they help with comprehension. I have some on my Audible account that you can download if you'd like. Let me know!

Way to go, Jappers! Now to buy a cage for your brother and Kass' brother.

Okay, so I CANNOT find my 12 mos. clothes anywhere. Not in the attic. Can you comb your shed for them, please? Thanks!
